Welcome to the world of Rosanne Pomerleau

From a young age, Rosanne has shown a deep sensitivity to her surroundings. She grew up in a small village in the Eastern Townships, where she loved to explore the forest, wide-open fields, mountains and streams. She would pick wild berries and simply enjoy life on the farm, which served as her playground. She daydreamed and journeyed to places of otherworldly beauty in her imagination.

As she matured, Rosanne began expressing her sensitivity through her work, allowing her technical and artistic skills to flourish. “Through life’s experiences and my inner quest, I have come to understand that we are, above all, evolving spiritual beings, thirsty for the great truths that shape our universe,” she reflects.

Each of her works is a testament to philosophy, humanism, introspection and mysticism. She captures everyday moments, intertwining them with wisdom and love. “We all have the choice and opportunity to lift the veil of the soul, and I have been allowed to peer through to the other side. With the talent I inherited and perfected, the artist in me expresses through painting and sculpture the beauty and richness of our profound nature, which inspires reflection and the immense pleasure I find in creating.”

Biography

Rosanne Pomerleau is a self-taught artist who has dedicated her career to studying the history and techniques of master painters and sculptors from the Renaissance to the present. She refined her technique by training in Philadelphia under the renowned American master Nelson Shanks.

Throughout her career, which spans over 45 years, Rosanne has won several medals and received numerous special mentions in international competitions. Her career and artistic approach have been featured in multiple significant newspapers, books and art magazines both in Quebec and internationally. Her works are included in various collections around the world.

In addition to her work as an artist, Rosanne has been teaching art for 25 years. As a trained portrait artist, she possesses a deep understanding of human anatomy, as well as perspective, composition and colour, whether she’s working in two or three dimensions.
